Raves - CS Eyeshadow Base and Shu Uemera Makeup Remover

I just came back from the Shu Uemura Tokyo Kamon Girls Launch Party. Fancy mouthful aside, it's basically a series of make-up cleansers - but oh boy, what a funky cleanser series this is.

1. Massage this onto your face to dissolve the makeup. (No water at this stage!)
2. When makeup is dissolved, add water and massage again to get milky emulsion.
3. Wash off milky emulsion with more water.
4. Towel dry and go to bed. I KID YOU NOT. No further cleansing necessary!

I tried out and yes, water does remove the cleansing oil. I'm pretty amazed. Considering that soap/alkaline stuff used to remove oil normally is drying on the skin, saving the cleanser step should be more moisturising on your skin! And the cleansers themselves come in 6 different formulas - enrich (for dry skin), calm, whitening, etc...

I would buy this, especially with the GWPs available, except for the fact that 150ml costs $50-70. Ouch. If I earned enough (and don't blow my salary on blogshops already), I would very much like to have this.

They were also nice enough to give all the RSVP guests a goodie bag.

I discovered this event through Cozycot.
Many thanks to Shu Uemura for organising this event, and providing us with nice Macarons(??) from Bakerzin!

----------------------------------

AND. I HAVE TO RAVE ABOUT THIS! THE BEST AND CHEAPEST PRIMER/EYESHADOW BASE, EVER!!

See the bottom, the white bottle? Well, if you remember my earlier entry on the Ebay Palette Spree, I mentioned that I bought the white eyeliner, the same as that on Coastal Scents, just that it's cheaper since it's the OEM version. (This is the same as what my ex-MUA uses and tried to sell me at $28, mind you!) Anyway, using it as a eyeliner, I experienced some smudging, but thanks to the advice of some girls on cozycot, I bought white thinking to use it as eyeshadow base/below-brow highlighter - and it works WONDERS. I worked on the PC show from 11am-9pm for the entirety of last weekend, and my eyeshadow remained intact till I got home! Some fellow promoters even commented on my nice eyeshadow work and staying power. Considering that my eyelids tend to eat eyeshadows for snacks normally (after morning application, the eyeshadows vaporise by lunchtime), this is a MIRACLE. I'm definately stocking up on some other colors like light browns and turquoise, purple etc for rushed/lazy days when I don't wanna have to deal with different colors and blending! Chuck your expensive Urban Decay, MAC or whatever-not eyelid primers, girls! The highly-raved Loreal Hip Eye Color Extender which I owe too loses to this hands down!

Lighter colored eyeshadows also shows up on this white "cream shadow" - I used ORM's Honeydew Eyes to match the lime green of my AE Jackie in Lime today and it's still 60% intact when I came home at 10pm just now. Not bad, huh?

P.S. The brush is supposed to be a dupe of MAC 187 - well it's not as soft, but not that rough either - for 4USD I certainly can't complain.

Anna Sui and Ebay Palette Spree

It's been a LONG LONG time since I've updated - have been busy with other stuff, but I'm not dead. Yet. Camera's bursting with photos I have taken and trying to find a chance to upload, but my company's crazy internet policy of banning all online image storage site is seriously hindering me.

This, taken all the way back in September last year, is my beautiful Anna Sui collection that I've accumulated using DFS arubaito vouchers. Here's my take on them.

1. Eyeshadow - It's a white elephant, because the quality sucks - the glitters are chunky, flaky and the shadow falls off to my lower eyelids all the time.
2. Powder Foundation & Case - The foundation is brand new and untouched still though. Am thinking if I should sell it off as I use mostly BB cream nowadays, and I still have my EDM foundation, a bottle of Anthelios tinted sunscreen, AND the trusty old ZA 2-way powder. But the compact looks so nice, I kinda can't bear to part with it...
3. Liquid Eyeliner - Smell heavenly (like honeydew), nice sharp brush tip, doesn't dry up easily - but flake off and disappears to god-knows-wear after 6 hours or so. Not good for long days.
4. Moisturing Rouge - Got this as a gift from my colleague. It has absolutely no pigmentation, but good as well, lip balm/moisturiser. Tastes and smells good, luckily.
5. Lip Gloss - My FAVOURITE of the brunch. I'm using it very sparingly cause I love it too much. It does wonders to give my lips that juicy and kissable look, with just the right amount of color! Tastes/smells like rose. I love it.

On another note, my SO helped me collect my ebay palette spree loots last saturday. The eyeliners are supposedly the OEM version of the ones that Coastal Scents sells. I got a white one to use as creme eyeshadow. Testing it out on me right now in the office as eyeliner to see if it would pass the "smudge test" (so that I can purchase other colors), I look like a cat with full white eyeliner, haha! Hope don't bump into bosses on the way to the toilet later or they'll faint, haha. (I also got a stippling brush (4USD), supposedly a MAC dupe, but I still find my EDM flat-top brushes softer and nicer.)

Main Store on Ebay:
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Fashion-popular__W0QQ_armrsZ1

Black:
http://cgi.ebay.com/02-BLACK-colour-gel-liner_W0QQitemZ350191805813QQihZ022QQcategoryZ31787QQcmdZViewItem

Gold:
http://cgi.ebay.com/06-shimmer-gold-colour-gel-liner_W0QQitemZ350178976790QQihZ022QQcategoryZ31787QQcmdZViewItem

White:
http://cgi.ebay.com/09-white-colour-gel-liner_W0QQitemZ350178975841QQihZ022QQcategoryZ31787QQcmdZViewItem

Silver:
http://cgi.ebay.com/04-shimmer-Silver-colour-gel-liner_W0QQitemZ170311953469QQihZ007QQcategoryZ31787QQcmdZViewItem

Purple:
http://cgi.ebay.com/29-Purple-colour-gel-liner_W0QQitemZ350181876257QQihZ022QQcategoryZ31787QQcmdZViewItem

Chocolate:
http://cgi.ebay.com/17-Chocolate-colour-gel-liner_W0QQitemZ170314059917QQihZ007QQcategoryZ31787QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

Contour/Highlight/Blushing Palette:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Nes-2-6-colour-face-powder_W0QQitemZ170313199505QQihZ007QQcategoryZ21021QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

A few days ago, I dropped by the Ang Mo Kio Hub Fairprice Xtra to pick up my free trial pack of the new Loreal Dermagenesis line. I have not been there before, so I was pretty stunned to see the NTUC outlet looking more like Carrefour than the normal NTUCs. They sold as much make-up as you can find in the average pharmacy/drugstore! *amazed*

I also went by Ngee Ann City Watson's to collect my 30ml sample Vichy Lotion, it's something like a toner. I'll try it out when my Missha Hydrating Toner is finished up and review then. But many thanks to Vichy for the generous sample size!

From Loreal: Day Cream, Essence Concentrate, and Advanced UV Fluid Protection. I wished that they had given me a sample of the eye cream instead though. The entire range is more for anti-aging, for which is not so applicable for the rest of my face, except my undereye area which is starting to have wrinkles. Sigh.

And once again, the Loreal Freebie Pack is courtesy of:

www.CozyCot.com

P.S. I'm not kidding. Look:

... and no, that's not a parallax error. My finger IS beside the chilli. See how much bigger and fatter the chilli is? Gosh.

A view of the entire plant - the immature chillis are the brown, almost black chunks you see:

YESHHH!!

After the initially disappointing news that Taiwan Missha has shut down, my buddy has just came back from HK with 2 X 50ml tubes of Missha BB Cream for me - Perfect Cover and Watery! I've already tried Watery thanks to pinkyrouyi's sample, so I know I like its oil control, minty feel and blendability, but no idea about Perfect Coverage - I stuck my neck out and asked him to get it based on kimoko's reviews about its coverage. (Damn pimple marks and under-eye circles). (SGD 35 each)

And my Coogi 30ml tube from my gmarket spree is coming in too. It only costed me about $15? Goody~ will use this for regular days to rotate around and prevent my skin from getting used to the Misshas.

See all the small bottles and satchels?
The freebies that came with the 2 full-sized Missha BB Cream purchases - 1 30ml Rose Water bottle, 1 hydrating toner, 1 Missha Vita BB Cream satchel.
Freebies that came with just 1 30ml Coogi BB Cream purchase - 3 satchels of different Coogi skincare products - including one for the Coogi BB Cream itself.

P.S.
Reviews of BB Creams

Ok, I shall update/record my own observations on BB creams based on the samples I will be trying:

Skin79 Intense Classic UV Balm (Day 1)
Color = No issues, looks light at first but blended well on its own after a while.
Coverage = Not that good. Can still see the big pimples.
Oil Control = Blah. By 4 hrs later can feel the oil on my forehead.
Texture = Seems a bit thick, not as easy to blend as the others.

Missha M Watery

Color = No issues, looks dark in bottle but blended well on its own!
Coverage = Not that good. Can still see the dark pimples marks.
Oil Control = Wonderful! 8 hours and no oily feel still!
Texture = Watery enough to spread easily
Others: MINTY COOL feeling when applying, esp. under my eyes! Good for waking me up in morning!

Coogi Flowertox
Color = No issues, looks light at first but blended well on its own after a while.
Coverage = Pretty good.
Oil Control = Not too bad, better than skin79, nose a bit oily in afternoon.
Texture = Seems a bit thick but manageable.

Skinfood Aloe Vera 01
Color = Great.
Coverage = Okay. Slightly behind Coogi.
Oil Control = Not too bad, better than skin79, nose a bit oily in afternoon.
Texture = Great! Easy to blend.
Others = The smell! The lovely smell!!

Missha M Shiny
Liole Beyond the Solution BB

The following is grabbed from Kimoko (http://kimoko.livejournal.com), compiled them here for my own convenience/reference. All credits belong to her...:

Skin79 Intense Classic Balm UV SPF20 PA++
This has gotta be the best Skin79 BB that I've own. Its coverage and oil control is the best among all the Skin79 BBs I've tried.
Coverage : Medium. When worn alone, it doesn't cover my eye circles very well but upon application of my LP, its covered without the need of a concealer. All other Skin79 BB's coverage is rather sheer.
Texture : Very Managable.
Shade : Surprizingly, all the Skin79 BBs I've tried are pretty dark but this is not. It was a shade in between Skin Food #1 and #2. Absolutely perfect for me!
Fragrance : It has a very pleasant lavender scent which kinda evaporate upon application. Read the ingredient list and it does contain lavender, thus the scent.
Oil-Control : Not the best in oil control when compared with other brands but among all the other Skin79, this has the best oil control.
Dewy-ness: This has a slight dewy radiant look even without my Skin Food White Grape Makeup Fixer #2 Glow.

Coogi Flowertox 3action Super BB Cream SPF25 PA++
This has got to be the most preferred BB among these 7 tubes.
Coverage : Medium - Thick. My definition of medium is that when worn alone, it doesn't cover my eye circles very well but upon application of my LP, its covered without the need of a concealer. But you're able to built up its coverage if you apply a thicker layer.
Texture : Managable. Its a little thick but still managable for application.
Shade : Has a slight pinkish undertone. Though I'm of a yellow undertone but it does not look weird on me.
Fragrance : It has a very pleasant flowery scent as its main ingredient is flowers. Scent kinda evaporate upon application.
Oil-Control : Pretty good oil control in my opinion. I have oily skin and this is kinda mattifying for me even after 8-9 hours.
Dewy-ness: Sad to say, this does not give the dewy radiant look as it has a rather matte finish. I have to have my Skin Food White Grape Makeup Fixer #2 Glow on to give me the glow.

Skinfood Aloe Vera SPF 20
Oil Control is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the Skin Food Gingko Green BB Cream! Its almost comparable, if not, slightly better than Missha M.
2) Though its slightly thicker than the Gingko Green BB Cream but I reckon this is the reason why the coverage is slightly better than Gingko Green too.
3) Blendibility is still rather alright considering the fact that the texture is slightly thicker than Gingko Green.
4) Love its smell!
5) The only drawback is that it does not give a dewy look as compared to the Skin Food Gingko Green BB.

On the whole, (to me) its really comparable to BRTC Perfect Blemish Balm. This is the perfect knock-off if you can't get your hands on the BRTC Perfect Blemish Balm. Oil control is good, coverage is good, texture/blendibility is managable. Put aside the not-getting-the-dewy-look, I super love this and I think I shall get a backup of this. -grins-

Missha M BB Cream Shiny SPF 27 / PA ++
Coverage: Medium.
Texture: Manageable. Its just slightly runny compared with Missha M Perfect Cover. Just a slight different.
Shade: Looks like a cross between Skin Food #1 and #2. It isn't too fair. Slight pinky yellowish undertones which I reckon will suit most skin tones.
Fragrance: Can't describe the scent but it has a very generic cosmetic scent. Not too pungent, pretty acceptable.
Oil-Control: Manageable. Not the best as compared to the Watery BB but its pretty manageable. Had to blot twice in a day.
Dewyness: It does gives the radiant, dewy look. It might be because of the pearl powder that is in the BB. It reminds me of the Skin79 Hologram but its pearl particles are very much finer and you definitely will not look like a disco ball.
Overall comments: This is very similar to the Watery BB except that this has the shiny pearl particles in the BB which helps to illuminate and brighten your complexion. Wear this together with the Missha M BB Boomer, you'll look super bright! Excellent for those who has a pretty dull complexion.

Missha M BB Cream Watery SPF 27 / PA++
Coverage: Medium
Texture: Pretty similar to Shiny. Manageable. Oh yes, upon application, it gives a very slight cool sensation. Reminds me of Kao Biore Cool which I was using when I was in my early teens. But the sensation lasted only a couple of seconds.
Shade: This is slightly darker which is pretty weird. This is the darkest among all my Missha BBs. Not as dark as Scandal Magic or Skin79 though. Comparing with all the other Missha BB, this is the darkest.
Fragrance: Similar to Shiny, it has a generic cosmetic scent that is pretty acceptable.
Oil-Control: Superbly good! Way better than Shiny!
Dewyness: It gives a super duper natural radiant GLOW. Its so glowy and natural that it made me look super healthy! Unlike any other BB that gives a dewy radiant glow, this is super natural!
Overall comments: This is the best BB that I've personally tried thus far. I was pretty sceptical initially as I thought it would be extremely moisturizing due to its name. I love how healthy and glowy I looked when I'm wearing this. Imagine a radiant glowing bride on her big day. Thats how I'll describe it! Shiny and Watery is different in terms of the finish. Shiny brightens up your complexion while Watery gives the extremely natural radiant healthy glow. Putting aside the fact that its a little darker in terms of its shade (which I can buff on a lighter shade of loose powder), this BB is definitely in my top 5 BB list.

Lioele Beyond the Solution BB
Coverage: Medium
Texture: Pretty manageable
Shade: It has a yellowish undertone so it fits me pretty well.
Fragrance: Undescribeable again but its a pretty generic cosmetic scent. Not flowery not fruity. Not too pungent, pretty acceptable.
Oil-Control: I would say its average. I've read reviews that oil control was superb but I had to blot twice? Not the best IMO. *some of my reviews differ from other reviewers. i have a weird skin. -grins-
Dewyness: It does have a slight dewy look. Not very radiant but a slight dewy finish.
Overall comments: I've read pretty good reviews bout this BB but it wasn't fantastic for me. I'm probably loving the Watery BB that I'm too bias on the rest of the BB that I'm reviewing together. Other than the shade that fits me perfectly, it wasn't really fantastic to me. I have to have the Skin Food White Grape Makeup Fixer to control the oil.
